Only 4.3% of surveyed survivors disclosed their assault to services or authorities

The study examines 583 young participants reporting drug-facilitated sexual assault in party settings. Researchers from Complutense and Alcalá universities distinguished disclosure to friends or relatives from contact with services. Some 78.2% had told only their close social circle; 17.5% had told nobody.

Ireland introduces a bill proposing a standalone spiking offence

The draft includes a toxicology pathway and a proposed maximum ten-year sentence. Mark Ward and Máire Devine introduced the Spiking Offences Bill 2026 in the Dáil. The proposal covers intentional administration of substances while knowing that the other person does not consent, or being reckless about whether they do.

Valencia opens registration for drug-facilitated assault prevention workshops

VSAFE announces three student sessions linking public engagement with participation in research. The University of Valencia has opened registration for ninety-minute workshops across its campuses on 30 October and 6 and 13 November. Places are limited, and participants must register in advance.
