One in five respondents had suspected being drugged during nightlife at some point. Following those suspicions, 7.6% contacted a GP and 4.6% contacted police.
Survey limitations
Researchers recruited 7,012 people aged 16–35 through social media in 2023. The sample does not represent all Dutch young people.
What respondents did afterwards
The full report details the responses: 63.3% talked to friends or relatives and 56.3% went home to sleep. Emergency department attendance, a separate category from contacting a GP, was also reported by 7.6%. People could take more than one action. These figures describe participants’ answers rather than a clinical service register.
